Vietnam War Flight Museum runs Collings Foundation TA-4 for the first time in years as a step to returning the airplane to airworthy status.
On the evening of Wednesday July 3rd, Vietnam War Flight Museum volunteers preformed a successful engine run on the Collings Foundation TA-4J as a first step to locate any problems to troubleshoot with the airplane. A known hydraulic leak was located, the previous reason the airplane was downed a few years ago, and a new hydraulic leak underneath one of the airplanes speed brakes.
In order to return the airplane to airworthy status, the team will be troubleshooting the hydraulic leaks as well as bringing the airplane up on inspections as needed.
